THE WALKING QUAD
"NEVER CONFUSE A SINGLE DEFEAT WITH A FINAL DEFEAT."
"THERE IS NOTHING THAT COULD HAVE
PREPARED ME FOR WHAT I WAS ABOUT TO FACE!"
ON SEPTEMBER 5th 2009, I BECAME A QUADRIPLEGIC.
One second I was on a mountain bike and the next, I was on the ground, completely paralyzed from the neck down. I couldn't move a single muscle. I knew then, my life had changed forever!
I was rushed in an air-medic helicopter to the nearest emergency hospital in London. After 4 long days of being stuck in the over saturated and under staffed London Royal Hospital, with no answers and still no movement, I was miraculously given a green light to be taken to one of the best spinal injury hospitals in the UK, Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
It was there that my spirit 'walked' through some of the darkest hallways of life. I know now, this walk was given to me so I could enter into some of the brightest rooms of HOPE!
